However, they should not come in direct contact with food or food chemicals. These gears come in sets of a gear and pinion, and the two must have the same pressure angle, module, and face width to mesh correctly. The plastic pinions can be used with metal gears, and the plastic gears can be used with metal pinions. Speed ratio determines the change in torque as the shaft speed increases or decreases.
